| MISSION VIEJO ROTARY CENTENNIAL PROJECT
DEDICATION OF CAMP ROTARY AT OSO
LAKE

Saturday November 19, 2005 was
a very special day
for the members of the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo and a milestone for
the club as they dedicated their Centennial project " Camp Rotary" at
Oso Lake in Mission Viejo.
Shown are members of the club
along with visitors
including family members as well as our
District Governor Bill Peloquin, and
City of Mission Viejo Council member, Gail Reavis.
Camp Rotary will be
available to the Boy Scouts,
Girls Scouts, YMCA, Church groups and
other Community organizations including
the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo.
The Club
presented a check in the amount of $15,000 to the Boy Scouts of America,
to be used for the improvements of the Camp site which is being
maintained by the Boy Scouts of America. Club members have and will
continue to do "Hands-On" projects in the development of the Camp Rotary
site.
A
large replica of the check was presented at the dedication and shown in
the picture from l to r , Club President Dennis O’Connor, Club Project
manager, PP Steve Mugg, District Governor Bill Peloquin and John
Fullerton, Director of Camping , Boy Scouts of America, Orange County
Council.
This was a two year project starting with then President Ross Boling
(2003-04) who appointed Col (US Marine Corp-Ret) Steve Mugg as
Centennial Project Manager ,who led the club as
President in 2004-05. Steve Mugg immediately began
working with the Boy Scouts of America in developing the project after
Rotary International approved the club’s actions as a Centennial
Project.
