D.J. and Lynnette Schuetze of Door of Faith Orphanage in Baja, Mexico, were the featured speakers on November 19, 2014.

D.J. and Lynnette, administrators at Door of Faith, gave an update about the orphanage in Mexico. They thanked the Rotary Club of Mission Viejo volunteers for the annual vision screenings completed each December to benefit the children.

According to the Door of Faith website, D.J .& Lynette Schuetze moved from Orange County to Door of Faith in April of 1993.  Lynette is trained in child development and was a pre-school teacher. D.J.’s background is in business, having served as Director of Marketing for a company in Southern California. After volunteering for many years at various orphanages, they decided to move full time to Baja to serve the children at Door of Faith. Since their arrival and organization of Door of Faith, the home has grown into one of the larger orphanages in Baja.

Door of Faith Orphanage is located in La Mision, Baja California, Mexico-approximately one hour south of the U.S. border crossing at San Diego. La Mision is roughly half way between the cities of Rosarito and Ensenada.
